We all have to pay tax on our income – it’s a fact of life!

Equally true is the fact that none of us want to pay more tax than we need to …. and that is where our new Tax Tune Up service comes in. We want to help you be sure that you are paying the correct amount of tax for your income and no more than that!

Here are some of the areas we can consider for you –

Are there any allowances or expenses which you can claim for?

Even as an employee there can be a number of allowances or deductions you can claim to reduce your tax liability. These have been set by HMRC and cover a wide range of employment sectors.

You may be able to backdate your claim by up to four years!

So, tell us about your area of employment and let us see if there is one or more allowance or expense deduction which you can claim.

Your tax code - is it correct?

Under the PAYE system, your tax code is used by your employer to calculate how much tax you will pay each week or month. Most of the time these are correct but sometimes they may not be. When you change jobs, your new employer may put you on an ‘emergency tax code’ under which you will pay more tax than with a normal tax code. Is your tax code still operating as an emergency one?

Are you managing your savings in the most tax efficient manne?

Everyone has an annual ISA allowance which enables them to move savings into tax free savings accounts. Are you making the most of yours?

Are there adjustments you could make in your financial affair?

There are a range of potential options in this area - all will have their own rules and eligibility criteria and can be quite complex to work through. Not all will be appropriate or possible for everyone but there may be one or two which fit your particular circumstances and may be worth exploring.

Fees and Charges

We want to make the Tax Tune Up service as accessible as possible so the initial fee is just £25.

This covers our initial administration and the collection of some basic income and employment information to make an initial assessment of the potential for tax savings for each client. Registration and data collection will be undertaken by an Accounts Assistant but the assessment will always be made a qualified accountant or tax practitioner.
